Angels @ Domain for AFL Indigenous Round

28 May 2016 by (unknown)

Aboriginal football players and Indigenous culture will be celebrated and recognised at the West Coast Eagles v Gold Coast Suns clash at Domain Stadium tomorrow as part of the AFL Sir Doug Nicholls Indigenous Round.
If you are heading to the match, get there early to catch the curtain raiser played by talented Indigenous players from both north and south of the river. You will see Perth Angels FC players Mel, Wirra and Heidi showcasing their skills! Congratulations for getting selected girls!

There is a movement throughout Australia at the moment, pushing for recognition of Indigenous Australians in the constitution. Perth Angels joins with the AFL in support for this! Check out recognise.org.au for more info.

The long presence of Aboriginal people in this land is part of Australia’s history. I think every fair-minded Australian can understand why recognition will help us to heal old wounds.
